A high-end, mixed-use new construction project is underway in Miami, Florida. This high-visibility project in downtown Miami is in the center of the city’s cultural hub. It will have retail, restaurant, and office space on the lower floors along with a tower featuring luxury residences, a coworking space, an event space, and a wellness center.
When it came time to start the installation of plumbing and pipe, Nestor Morales and his crew from Olympia Plumbing knew their only choice for this project was to use Viega copper ProPress fittings. “Viega ProPress and MegaPress fittings allow for quick, efficient, and reliable installation,” said Morales. “We can easily make pipe connections and not worry about leakage that can happen by welding.”
Olympia Plumbing has more than 30 years of experience in commercial and industrial plumbing services. They used copper ProPress fittings in ½” to 4” sizes for this project and have been using ProPress and MegaPress since 2014. Morales said that he uses Viega fittings on all his projects involving water risers and horizontal distribution installations and gas systems.
Frank Jara, District Manager for Viega in SE Florida, said that the ease that Morales and his team at Olympia Plumbing had with installing ProPress sparked a conversation with another contractor on the project. “After seeing how quickly Viega ProPress fittings were put together, the mechanical contractor on the project started using ProPress on their project to install the return of the condenser units for the air conditioning.”.
