Viega Works – Engaging Custom Workshops

When the pandemic closed our seminar centers in Colorado and New Hampshire, we needed a new way to connect with customers who needed questions answered and who wanted to add to their knowledge and skill sets.

We offered one-size-fits-all online webinars, but they didn’t provide the personalization customers needed. So we asked our technical consultants to turn their basements and garages into makeshift studios and launched Viega Works, a new program that offers customized, highly focused sessions for small groups, usually from the same company.

In Viega Works, our expert technical consultants troubleshoot, answer specific questions, explain products and processes and provide hands-on demos on all things Viega. The sessions, which are designed in response to customer requests, can be as short as 30 minutes. They’ve proven hugely popular. Since launching the program in late 2020, we’ve given more than 2,400 unique customized sessions.

Even though our seminar centers reopened Aug. 2, we will continue to offer Viega Works. Below are two examples of why:

How Viega Works helps

The crews at Grooms & Pollard Utility Services, a commercial plumbing and utility construction firm in Oklahoma City, had done some pressing with Viega products, but wanted to learn more about the technology and its applications.

Project manager Dave Goble and two others joined a Viega technical consultant and a member of field sales on a 30-minute call in early July.

“It was insightful,” Goble said. “I know our lead plumber learned some things about MegaPress that were new to him.”

The company expects to do more pressing in the future and will schedule another Viega Works session, if needed, Goble said.

Two sessions with a Viega technical consultant gave Mike Purkey, owner of Purkey’s Plumbing in Auberry, Ca., the know-how and confidence to tackle one of the most difficult jobs of his career: repairing 1,000 feet of 4-inch water line at a Boy Scout camp in the Sierra Mountains, a location so remote that it can only be reached by ATV.

A Viega sales rep lent him the tools and Purkey booked the Viega Works sessions to be sure he knew how to use them correctly. “Using that MegaPress has been a lifesaver on this job,” he said, adding that pressing saved him 10 to 20 days on the project, which also includes building a latrine and shower facility.

We’re committed to making sure our customers and prospective customers know everything necessary to realize the benefits of pressing. To learn more about Viega Works sessions, click here.
